How we run our day

Daily Schedule

Our daily schedule offers time for children to participate in both group activities and independent child choice activities

Guided Free Play

Your child will get to use their imagination when playing throughout the classroom.

Large Group Time

Bible and children’s stories, songs, finger plays and music, calendar and weather, and art.

Large Motor Time

Focused Learning Time

Young children learn by doing. Our teaching strategies and curriculum help children acquire knowledge about their physical and social world through playful interaction with objects and people. We offer programs appropriate to the age and developmental readiness.

Faith Lessons

The children grow in their appreciation of God’s creation, enjoy worship activities and respond to God’s love by caring for others.

Healthy Meals

We know that healthy eating and an active lifestyle can be crucial to having a healthy life. Good nutrition is a key part of our program. We follow the CAFCP for all of our meals and snacks.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is developed in-house by Little Lambs and is thoughtfully designed to align with all Minnesota Early Learning Standards. Our goal is for each child to enter kindergarten confidently demonstrating knowledge and skills across multiple learning areas, including social-emotional development, math, science, social studies (cognitive development), physical development, the arts, language and literacy, and communication.

As a learning center, our daily and weekly schedules are structured similarly to a school environment, providing children with consistent opportunities for growth and learning. To best prepare your child for kindergarten, we encourage attendance of at least three days per week, with four to five days being ideal. We understand that every family’s schedule and needs are different, and regardless of attendance frequency, we will continue to work diligently to support your child’s development and help them stay on track for future success.

Christian Emphasis & Philosophy

Faith development is an important part of our non-denominational curriculum at Little Lambs. Our staff embraces the joyful responsibility of helping faith come alive in meaningful, age-appropriate ways for young children. Through daily experiences, children learn that they are loved by God and are a valued part of His creation.

Faith is woven throughout our program and reflected in the relationships, activities, and experiences we provide each day. Children are encouraged to grow in their understanding of God’s love, develop an appreciation for His creation, participate in worship and prayer experiences, and demonstrate kindness and compassion toward others.

We are committed to:

  • Nurturing spiritual growth by incorporating the teachings and values of Jesus into our daily curriculum and interactions.
  • Developing a positive self-image by helping each child recognize their unique worth and gifts.
  • Encouraging independence and confidence through age-appropriate opportunities for choice and responsibility.
  • Promoting the development of large and small motor skills through active play and hands-on learning experiences.
  • Stimulating intellectual curiosity, creativity, and the exploration of new ideas through engaging learning opportunities.

Through these experiences, we strive to support the growth of the whole child—spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually

Testimonials

It is the hardest thing as a parent to not be with your child throughout the week but it has been an answer to prayer to have found a place where I can bring my son that I can trust and know that the staff will love and care for him! Each day I know that he will learn, play, and be loved! I love all the activities they do and I am so happy they have time to sing and praise God in the sanctuary! I know the staff shares Jesus’ love with each of the little ones! Thank you Little Lambs for caring for my baby!

I’m so grateful we found Little Lambs. After moving to a new state, they’ve been incredibly kind and supportive as our family navigates all the changes. Within just a week, my 3-year-old was asking to go to “school” and gets so excited to see her friends each day. My newborn will be starting soon, and my school-aged child will be attending their summer program. A month in, we couldn’t be happier and feel so thankful for the care and support they’ve provided. I’ll be sure to update if anything changes, but so far it’s been a wonderful experience.

As a first time mom, I was nervous going back to work. However, little lambs as made it so easy for me to feel confident that my baby is going to be loved and cared for during the day. I’m so happy with the communication and updates throughout the day. It’s nice to know in real time what my baby is doing and when she is napping. I’m also impressed with the staff in the preschool classes as well. The director has done an excellent job hiring for excellence.
